Letter to the Editor - Animal issues (Of the cats & dog, and monkeys & musangs)

The middle of the night barking of the dogs was handled very well and resolved in a very short period of time under the new management.

The residents at the top floor of the condominium are probably having the similar problems with monkeys and musangs. For months, I was disturbed by the noise of the animal moving around and making noises above the ceiling but I did not take any action to get rid of them. At first I thought my difficulties in sleeping well could be due to my lack of Qi Gong exercises or the effect of haze, without realizing the noises were affecting my peace of mind. It became so intolerable that I decided to SMS the manager in the middle of the night with the distress message, after the very helpful guards who can speak a bit of English and Malay could not resolve the noise above the ceiling except to ascertain that it was not due to human beings. I am writing this to express my sincere appreciation to the management for the understanding of the significance of the problems created by musangs, and it took several days of planning and tactics to eventually catching the musangs and the noises were eliminated for now. Mr. Paul Batha is the best manager who is more than willing to work round the clock to solve the animal problems. I just hope that the management can take proactive actions to prevent the musangs from entering the condominium so that there shall be quiet and peace at night.

The outstanding animal issue is that the cats are still loitering around. The greatest joke was the story by a previous acting manager that a particular cat was so timid that it was unlikely to leave the owner’s premises. It so happen that this timid cat is now seen moving around with a number of other cats. The management should install CCTV temporarily to capture the scenes of the animal nuisance. This way we can educate the owners to take care of their cats. Without the evidence, the owners are able to deny in order to defend for their cats. I must reiterate that I am not against domesticated animals, but the owners must make sure they do not become nuisance.

As we open up the animal issues and resolve them, Tiara Damansara will be a much better place to live in.

I take this opportunity to thank Mr. Paul Batha and his team for working hard to tackle the animal issues. If there is a will there is a way.
